Meet the Person Behind Faithandpractice.blog

I’m currently completing a PhD in Practical Theology, with an expected graduation in December 2027, building on a Master of Divinity (MDiv). My academic work focuses on how Scripture speaks into everyday life, not just the classroom or pulpit. Along the way I’ve served in youth ministry, worship ministry, spent several meaningful years as a foster parent, and as a chaplain for neighbors experiencing homelessness—contexts that have convinced me that theology matters most when it is lived, shared, and made understandable.

Ministry Journey & Mission

This site grows out of years of walking with teenagers, leading congregations in worship, and listening to stories on shelter cots and city sidewalks. Again and again I’ve seen how many faithful, thoughtful Christians feel either intimidated by the Bible or unsure how its ancient words connect with modern questions about work, family, justice, grief, or decision-making.

The purpose of faithandpractice.blog is to bridge that gap—to offer biblically grounded reflections, practical tools, and pastoral insight that help lay people read Scripture for themselves and apply it wisely to everyday challenges. My hope is that as you read, you’ll feel both gently stretched and deeply encouraged, gaining confidence to bring the whole of your life under the gracious, trustworthy Word of God.
